Are you a bridesmaid? Mother of the bride? Soon-to-be Auntie? Best friend of an expecting mama? If so, you may be in the middle of planning a shower to honor the bride or soon-to-be-mom.
This can involve many lengthy to-do lists, but one thing you shouldn’t forget about are those extremely popular gift baskets to raffle off to your shower guests – or even to give your guest-of-honor.
After you order your amazing shower invitations from Minted, of course. But seriously, check out Minted invitations if you haven’t already. I swear by everything they do. All of their stationery is beautiful.
When you are hosting a baby or bridal shower, you’ll want to make sure your guests feel welcomed and excited by making the best choices to honor your girl!
And there’s no better way to accomplish this goal than to raffle off some amazing gift baskets!
I’ve been in my fair share of weddings for some of my best gals, and I’ve helped to plan their wedding showers. And I’ll be here for them for their baby showers too.
Part of my duties as a bridesmaid has been to organize a gift basket for the raffle.
How does this raffle work, you ask?
Well, when the women perform well at the shower games, like Bingo or “How well do you know the couple?,” they get to earn tickets.
Then, they put their tickets in the raffle to win whatever basket they want!
Trust me, this is one way to really get the crowd engaged in those somewhat trite shower games. They really start hooting and hollering at the end of the shower when the mama or bride start to pull those tickets!
However, choosing exactly what baskets to make – and what to put inside them! – can be a tough task for any party hostess! With this extensive list of baskets and exactly what to put inside them, it can be made easy.
These baskets can also double as AWESOME gift ideas!
Before we get started with our list, I highly recommend coming up with a budget for each basket. This will help make sure that you aren’t overspending. It can be easy to get carried away once you start filling your baskets, but your guests will be happy with anything!
Talk with your other party planners to choose a budget, and this will narrow down exactly what you’ll include in each.

Now let’s get to that list.
1. Wine Lover Basket
This basket should be stocked full of wine and wine-related items. You can include wine (I recommend one red wine and one white wine, depending on your budget), wine glasses, wine charms, coasters, a wine opener, and cute wine stoppers.
These coasters on Amazon are super cute and durable! They make such a great add-on for any wine gift basket.
2. Lottery Basket
This one is self-explanatory. If you’re lacking creativity, this is a great basket option. People LOVE the chance to become instant winners. Fill this basket with a bunch of scratch off lottery tickets, and you’ll be good to go!
3. Kitchen Basket
Let’s get real. Many of your guests have probably spent a day or two slaving over a hot stove. So why not help them out with the kitchen needs? You can fill this basket with the kitchen essentials, such as tea towels, measuring cups/spoons, baking mixes, spatulas, mixing spoons, a spoon rest, sponges, dish soap, oven mitts, spices, and other cute kitchen accessories.
The choices here are endless!
I’ve been using these awesome Kitchenaid measuring cups since we moved into our house almost five years ago, and I still love them! You can add them to your basket for less than $5!
4. Italian Basket
Who doesn’t love a bowl of delicious pasta? With this basket, you’ll have people ditching their diets for the taste of Italy. You can include spaghetti sauces, pasta noodles, spices, Italian candies, pasta bowls, strainer, pasta spoon, Italian-themed tea towels, biscotti, pepperoni, and other Italian delicacies (that don’t require refrigeration of course).
5. “A Day at the Beach” Basket
This basket is so much fun to make, because it’ll have you dreaming of those sandy toes and island cocktails. You can include items like beach towels, flip flops, sunglasses, suntan lotion, aloe vera, plastic outdoor tableware, beach toys, drink tumblers, a handheld fan/mister, inexpensive headphones, and even a deck of cards or other beach games. You can even pack this in a tote bag or bucket!
6. Garden Basket
I call this basket the “Green Thumb” basket, because the guests who spend their time gardening outdoors are surely going to be the ones who go crazy for this one. This basket can include small gardening tools, seeds, small pots, a cute gardening sign, plant labels, a watering can, or even a gift card to a gardening store. You can also include a live plant in this basket, just be sure not to assemble it until a day near the shower if you do this!
7. Pet Basket
This is one of my favorites to make (hello, dog lovers!) and usually my friends assign me to this before I even get a chance to see the rest of the list. No problem. I love spoiling my furry friends, and a lot of your guests probably will too.
You can include treats, treat jars, shampoo, food bowls, toys, collars, leashes, and pet blankets. You can even pack this stuff inside a cute basket that will double as a toy bin for their pet!
8. Date Night Basket
Many people hate thinking of date ideas, so why not give them a basket that solves this problem? Date night baskets can include so many different things! You can include board games, alcohol, a deck of cards, movies, chocolate, popcorn, a cozy blanket, movie theater gift cards, his and hers glassware, and snacks. Consider your guests and what they like to do when you create this basket.
Too bad the basket isn’t big enough to fit a babysitter, huh?
9. Picnic Essentials Basket
Everyone loves a good picnic on a nice, sunny day. This basket can have all those essentials that make it easy to pack a picnic. You can even pack it all up in a nice picnic basket or soft cooler! You can include outdoor tableware, Tupperware, snacks, travel drinkware, a blanket, and wine.
10. Baby Basket
It’s highly likely that someone on your guest list has kids, grandkids, or is expecting a kid soon enough. This is an especially popular option for baby showers.
A basket full of baby items is a great and easy gift basket idea. You should include baby basics, like onesies, toys, bath products, diaper cream, a gift card to a baby store, baby snacks, plates, bowls, and hand sanitizer. Make sure you consider your guests before you add this one to your basket list!
11. Movie Night Basket
Movie nights in are some of the best nights! Plan this night for your guests by loading up a basket to make everything easy for them. Choose one or two popular movies. If you are throwing a baby shower, you may want to consider options like Knocked Up or Baby Mama. If you are throwing a bridal shower, you might pick Father of the Bride or Bridesmaids.
Play to your theme, or choose some new releases (these will typically cost you more though!). Make sure to add movie candy, popcorn, and maybe some old-fashioned Coca-Colas.
12. Coffee Lovers Basket
This is a huge hit at all the showers I’ve ever attended. So many people can’t live without their coffee. And filling this basket with a bunch of different types of coffee is easy! Add coffee grounds, beans, or K-cups. Then throw in a mug or some coffee-flavored candy, and you’re all done!
13. Tea Lovers Basket
Tea is also wildly popular, and you can buy tea with any budget in mind! This basket can include different types of tea (loose or bagged), mugs, cute tea infusers, and other tea accessories.
This heart-shaped tea infuser is adorable, and it’s under $5 on Amazon!
You can even include some lemons and a jar of honey to add a cute little touch.
14. Candle Basket
This one’s another self-explanatory basket. Simply put, us women love our candles! (I know I sure do!) So, you can fill a basket with some new scents. This also meets a range of budgets, because candles can come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and prices.
You can also include other scent-boosting products, like car fresheners, soaps, diffusers, wax burners, or potpourri.
These little Febreze car fresheners are the best – my husband always keeps them in both our cars! You can get a pack of 4 right here on Amazon for less than $9. They can even double as party favors for game winners at your shower (and cost less than $2.50 each!)
15. Fitness Lover Basket
Sure, you don’t want your guests to be thinking about how many calories the cake is, BUT that shouldn’t stop you from making this awesome fitness lovers basket! Many people go crazy over this one.
You can include so many different things in this basket, including water bottles, a yoga mat, a tote bag or drawstring backpack, hair ties or headbands, a sweat towel, a yoga block, a resistance band, and workout DVDs.
Gaiam Yoga has tons of products you can add to your basket, including this great yoga mat (for under $17!) that comes with a strap for easy transport.
16. Fall Basket
Fall baskets are always a hit during “pumpkin spice” season. You can always find lots of fall-inspired goodies during September through November, so if you’re hosting a shower during this time, sign someone up for this basket!
You can include fall-themed candles, a cozy blanket, pumpkin flavored treats and coffee, cinnamon goodies, baking mixes, fall tea towels, and other cute home décor. This one’s sure to be a hit. I’ve even been to a shower with TWO of these baskets raffled off to two very happy ladies.
17. Winter Basket
Just like the fall basket, this one is sure to be a hit if you are throwing a shower during the winter season. You can include holiday-related items, like cute home décor, baking mixes, and ornaments. You can also put in cozy accessories, like blankets, mittens, hats. Warm drinks, such as cocoa mix, coffee, and tea, are also perfect for this basket if you live in cold winter weather!
18. Spring Basket
Now you’re surely getting the hint about the seasonal baskets. You simply want to scour the shelves of the newest stuff at the store! Spring baskets can include chocolates, flower pots, spring décor, tea towels, seeds, outdoor tableware, floral-scented candles, an umbrella (April showers bring May flowers, right?), and even some snacks or wine.
19. Summer Basket
This one is similar to the beach lover basket, because you’ll want to include items that scream SUMMER! Beach towels, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, water balloons, outdoor tableware, summer-inspired scents, home décor, and flip flops are all great options.
You can also include some drink mixes for mojitos, mai tais, and Bahama mamas!
20. “At Home Spa” Beauty Basket
Every woman deserves some “me time.” That’s what makes this basket wildly popular for showers – or even for gifts (bachelorette parties, anyone?)! Beauty products are the way to a woman’s heart, and you can fill this basket with goodies that will wow.
You can include face masks, fancy soaps, cute washcloths, hair products, make up, lotions, bath bombs, candles, wine, eye masks, nail polish (Essie brand is my favorite!), cotton balls, and bubble bath. This basket has endless possibilities!
21. “The Homebody” Basket
We all have those friends that just never want to leave their house.
I’m DEFINITELY that friend. So, I basically just made a basket that I would LOVE to win.
The homebody basket can include anything that makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. You can include candles, blankets, movies, wine, tea, hot chocolate mix, cute home décor, mugs, bubble bath, and fancy snacks/candy.
22. Girls Night In Basket
This one may actually end up sounding similar to the homebody basket above, but it serves an entirely different purpose. Girls’ nights in are always a guaranteed good time!
In this basket, you can put wine, a popular rom-com, an iTunes gift card (hello dance party!), snacks, chocolate, popcorn, cute beverage napkins/straws, or fun games.
23. Margarita Night Basket
Margarita Mondays are real, people. And your guests will love that this basket helps them cure those nasty Monday blues. This basket should include tequila, margarita mix, and margarita glasses. You can also include salt or sugar for the rims, limes, and chips and salsa.
Just tell them that you aren’t responsible for that lingering headache on Tuesday morning!
24. Book Lover Basket
This basket is a great choice to please those who love burying their nose in the newest bestseller. As a matter of fact, you should include a bestseller (or two!) inside the basket to help them along. Find the best prices (along with reviews) on Amazon.
Also, you can include bookmarks, journals, coffee, mugs, or other popular books. In fact, tried-and-true recommendations are always welcomed, so maybe even chose something you’ve read and loved yourself!
Monolike makes awesome magnetic bookmarks that come in multi-packs, and you can get them here on Amazon for less than $7!
All of these baskets will surely make your guests excited to help honor your friend at her shower! And with this list, they will be fun and and easy to assemble.
Once you decide on a price point for each basket, you’ll be able to start shopping for what to include. This list is just a bunch of ideas to inspire you to get those baskets filled, but be sure you are always thinking of what interests YOUR guests!
Remember, the goal is to keep them happy and get them excited about spending the day spoiling your guest-of-honor!
Places I recommend looking for cheap buys for your basket include HomeGoods, At Home, Dollar General (where everything’s always only $1!), Target, Walmart, TJMaxx, Marshalls, Hobby Lobby, Amazon, and Bath and Body Works.
I recommend searching through clearance sections to spare any money you can while still making a fantastic basket.
